ISLAMABAD, Aug 19 (APP):The Faizan Global Relief Foundation (FGRF) on Monday kicked off a countrywide plantation drive to replenish depleting green cover due to rapid urbanization and climate catastrophes to ensure eco-conservation and habitat protection.
Under FGRF, a Dawat-e-Islami’s initiative, the plantation campaign was underway with open targets in many cities including Islamabad, Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), a Foundation official told APP while sharing the insight as the country was planting millions of saplings across the country under the Plant for Pakistan initiative under the Green Pakistan Programme.
Dawat-e-Islami, like every year, has started to plant saplings under its regular plantation campaign in many cities of the country, where numerous saplings were being planted at many places including schools, colleges, universities, government offices, press clubs, parks, hospitals and around Jamia Al Madinah and Madrasah Al Madinah.
The FGRF leadership expressed the determination that this plantation campaign would be continued at full throttle pace to make the homeland greener by spreading it throughout the country.
In this nationwide tree plantation campaign, FGRF’s members of the Shura (council), supervisors of departments at the Pakistan level, supervisor zones, supervisor cabinet, supervisor division and various departments including those responsible for their consultations.
During the campaign, Shura member Haji Azhar Attari said, “Whoever planted a tree, then protected it and was patient in its care, until it started to bear fruit, then every fruit eaten from it will be considered by Allah as it is sadaqah (charity) for a Muslim who plants a crop or plants a tree and if humans or animals eat from it, it will be considered as sadaqah on his part, as long as people continue to benefit from the tree, the one who planted it will continue to receive reward.”
He said that Dawat-e-Islami has decided to make the beloved Pakistan greener under the same objective, and in this regard, half a million saplings will be planted in Punjab alone this year under the FGRF plantation campaign.
